The longest-running film noir festival in Los Angeles returns to the Egyptian Theatre with another incredible lineup of rarities, presented as they were meant to be seen – on the big screen! To celebrate the 20th anniversary of NOIR CITY: HOLLYWOOD, we delve deep into the archives to present a sizzling slate of sinister cinema – virtually all in glorious 35mm, including prints struck expressly for this series. Returning as hosts are Eddie Muller and Alan K. Rode, whose Film Noir Foundation will proudly present 10 consecutive nights of sinuous shadows, dangerous desires and bitter beauties brimming with broken dreams. Join us in NOIR CITY!
The series is highlighted with an appearance by master of noir crime fiction, James Ellroy who will appear with the 1997 neo-noir, L.A. CONFIDENTIAL, which is based on one of Ellroy’s novels.
Quite a few titles in the series have to be seen theatrically, as they are not on DVD.
