LA Film Fest Pick: ENTRANCE

Although Dallas Hallam’s camera captures many sections of Silver Lake at it’s most picturesque, in the end Entrance makes a strong case for leaving LA.  Featuring a bold and introspective performance by Suziey Block, the film succeeds in cultivating an aura of creeping dread and mounting paranoia. Co-directors Hallam and Patrick Horvath take their time reaching their nightmarish climax, but Block’s work here is strong enough to keep us interested, with an occasional boost from an appealing, naturalistic supporting cast.  Entrance has its World Premiere at the LA Film Fest, Friday, June 24th at 10:00 pm, and screens again Saturday the 25th at 4:00 at the Downtown Independent.
