Quickfest, the International Online Film Festival, Announces Their First Horror/Thriller Festival
Requesting Submissions From Filmmakers Worldwide

May 29, 2009—Los Angeles, CA – Quickfest.com™, an international online film festival, having recently completed their first online festival, announces Quickfest 102 – a ten day film festival set to begin Friday, June 19, 2009.  Quickfest 102 will challenge filmmakers from around the world to produce—within a ten day period – an all new short film in the horror or thriller genre. 

The first festival, Quickfest 101, which took place from May 15th – 17th, was a parody festival with entrants lampooning summer blockbusters.  Filmmakers were given a two day period to write, shoot and edit their short film.

Festival Director Greg Zekowski says “With our first festival we were excited to see interest from around the world with new members from across the country and as far away as Brazil.  Moving to a ten day festival format will allow more teams to participate, with the festival spanning two weekends to create and edit their entries.”
The critical elements—the list of dialogue, characters or products that must be incorporated with each entry—will be announced at the beginning of the festival on Friday June 19 at 12 noon (PST) at http://www.quickfest.com. Filmmakers competing as individuals or teams will have ten days to write, shoot, edit and upload the final films no later than Sunday June 28 at midnight (PST).

Films will be judged by a panel of working entertainment industry professionals, including William Malone, director of horror hits including “Parasomnia,” “Fear.Com,” “Masters of Horror” and the “House on Haunted Hill.”  Also back from Quickfest 101 is Mark Forby, producer of “Prom Night.”  Additional judges will be announced as the competition draws near.
