SANTA MONICA, CA - 14th Annual Independent Filmmakers Showcase (IFS) Film Festival is proud to be screening independent filmmaking icon Henry Jaglom’s classic feature film “FESTIVAL IN CANNES” at 5:10, featuring a Q&A with the director.

The movie “FESTIVAL IN CANNES” uses Cannes as a backdrop for it’s dramatic comedy tale about the film industry. Starring Greta Scacchi, Maximilian Schell, Ron Silver, Zack Norman, and Jenny Gabrielle, with cameos from Jeff Goldblum, Holly Hunter, Faye Dunaway, and William Shatner, this 2001 film is a perfect entry point to the cinema of Henry Jaglom, as it blends his accessible and experimental sides into a brilliant and easygoing feature.

The IFS is proud to be associated with Henry Jaglom who epitomizes the best in independent filmmaking, creating uncompromising work that reinvents the rules of the medium to express a personal vision. Mr. Jaglom has been creating films on his own terms for over 30 years with no sign of slowing down.

Henry Jaglom began his career editing Easy Rider, then directing his 1971 debut A Safe Place (starring Jack Nicholson), and later Tracks (with Dennis Hopper). 1980’s Sitting Ducks was his first hit and immediately after he began creating deeply personal films that blurred the line between fiction and reality, including: Always, But Not Forever, Someone to Love (featuring Orson Welles), New Year’s Day,Venice/Venice and the film we proudly reintroduce to the big screen: “FESTIVAL IN CANNES”
