100 MEN AND A GIRL (1937)
Starring Deanna Durbin
This smartly written rags-to-riches film was a vehicle for Universal’s young superstar Deanna Durbin, who was more popular than both Shirley Temple and Judy Garland at this time. Only 16 years old, her singing voice was phenomenal. The filmmaking is top notch, and the soundtrack includes wonderful classical music. You’re in for a treat.
