13th ANNUAL CINE SIN FIN FESTIVAL: WEEKEND I

Cine Sin Fin presents a stellar assortment of short films including Academia Semillas del Pueblo Xinaxcalmecac: Through Our Eyes, a documentary illustrating the power of learning in an environment which embraces culturally relevant curriculum; Second Chance, a short film examining the relationship between a Mexican hearing family and their deaf daughter written and produced by a class of Deaf and Hard of Hearing high school students at Marlton School in Los Angeles, California; Imperial Silence, an animated opera of sorts that extends the Mexican and Chicano tradition of the Days of the Dead to musical, animation and cinematic forms; The Great Wall of Los Angeles, a history of muralism in Los Angeles and the Great Wall of Los Angeles, an art project headed up by Judy Baca; and Shopping to Belong, an engaging documentary that touches on issues of identity, citizenship, and the loss of homeland faced by the Latino immigrant.
