2007 Foreign Language Film Award Nominees Symposium

Synopsis:

Saturday, February 23, 2008 at 10 a.m. at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater

Foreign Language Film Award Nominees Symposium
Featuring representatives of the 2007 Foreign Language Film award nominees

Moderated by Foreign Language chair Mark Johnson

What began as a small, intimate gathering of directors representing their nominated films in the Foreign Language Film category has turned into an annual standing-room-only event that is as entertaining as it is informative. Each year the Academy invites the directors of the nominated films to appear onstage to discuss their films and respond to questions from the audience.

The 2007 symposium, as in the past, will take place the day before the Academy Awards® presentation. Moderated by Mark Johnson, the Oscar®-winning producer of Rain Man, The Notebook and The Chronicles of Narnia, it will bring together some of the world’s top filmmakers to address such wide-ranging topics as art, politics and moviemaking. The approximately two-hour event will also feature brief clips from the nominated films.

Admission is free, but advance tickets are required.

Tickets may be obtained online, by mail (HTML or PDF format) or at the Academy during regular business hours. The Samuel Goldwyn Theater is located at 8949 Wilshire Blvd. Doors open at 9:00 a.m. All seating is unreserved. For more information, please call the Academy at (310) 247-3600. Academy Website
