As part of AFI FEST 2009 presented by Audi (October 30–November 7, 2009), the Skirball and the American Film Institute present an evening in honor of Christopher Plummer. The multiple Tony Award winner has enjoyed almost sixty years as one of theater's most respected actors and a veteran of more than 100 motion pictures. His range of notable films includes The Man Who Would Be King, Waterloo, Star Trek VI, Twelve Monkeys, The Sound of Music, The Insider (in which Plummer played Mike Wallace in a National Film Critics Award-winning performance), A Beautiful Mind, National Treasure, Syriana, and Inside Man. Plummer's most recent work includes the animated film projects Up, 9, and My Dog Tulip, and the title role in The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, directed by Terry Gilliam.

Be there for this special tribute, featuring lively conversation with Plummer and film clips spanning his career. Then stay for a screening of The Last Station, written and directed by Michael Hoffman, in which Plummer stars as the great novelist Leo Tolstoy opposite Helen Mirren.
