Adrian: Nothing From A Store

Richard Adkins will present a program on designer Gilbert Adrian, known primarily by the single name "Adrian" and the time he spent as with Cecil B. DeMille. Adrian started with DeMille in 1925, became head of the costume department at the DeMille (and later Pathé-DeMille studio) and was part of DeMille's unit when the director moved his production company to the M.G.M. lot in late 1928.

Adrian, whose reputation skyrocketed with his association with M.G.M., was already a seasoned designer for both stage and film before signing with DeMille, having created costumes for Mae Murray, Alma Rubens and Rudolph Valentino. This program will include a powerpoint presentation and a display of artifacts relating to Adrian's career. It is not planned to include any Adrian costumes at this time.
