AFI FEST 2011 presented by AUDI AT THE AMERICAN CINEMATHEQUE

Synopsis:

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 4TH TO WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 30TH

Join us at the Egyptian Theatre for an exciting collaboration with AFI FEST 2011 presented by Audi that includes Lars Von Trier's meditation on depression and the apocalypse, MELANCHOLIA, with actress Kirsten Dunst in attendance; contemplative coming-of-age drama KID WITH A BIKE, with filmmakers Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne in attendance; Werner Herzog's arresting death row documentary INTO THE ABYSS, with Herzog in attendance; MISS BALA, Gerardo Naranjo's thriller following a would-be pageant queen mixed up in the underworld of Mexican drug cartels, with the filmmaker in attendance; director Mark Pellington in attendance with I MELT WITH YOU, about four friends assessing their lives while on a vacation in Big Sur; MICHAEL, from Austrian director Marcus Schleinzer, about five months in the life of a pedophile keeping a young boy hostage in his basement; and director David Galb in attendance with his documentary JIRO DREAMS OF SUSHI, a portrait of 85-year-old sushi master Jiro Ono.

All screenings are free, but tickets must be reserved at AFIFest.com. Tickets are NOT available on Fandango.
