ALL THE PRESIDENT'S MEN (AFI'S 100 years...100 movies)

Washington Post reporters Carl Bernstein (Dustin Hoffman) and Bob Woodward (Robert Redford) put their jobs, their reputations and their lives on the line to uncover Watergate, the biggest political scandal in American history, when what appears to be a minor break-in at the Democratic Party's national headquarters turns out to be a botched burglary authorized by the president. Director Pakula and screenwriter Goldman craft the real-life watershed events that led to the resignation of President Nixon in 1974 into an explosive political thriller and detective story. The film won 4 Oscars, including one for Goldman for Best Screenplay Based on Material from Another Medium. ALL THE PRESIDENT'S MEN is 77th on AFI's 100 Years... 100 Movies - 10th Anniversary Edition, 34th on AFI's 100 Years…100 Cheers: America's Most Inspiring Movies list and 57th on AFI's 100 Years… 100 Thrills list.
