August 1st
Who Took The Bomp? Le Tigre on Tour
The film follows iconic feminist electronic band Le Tigre on their 2004-2005 international tour across four continents and through ten countries. Supported by a community of devoted fans and led by outspoken Riot Grrrl pioneer Kathleen Hanna (Bikini Kill), Le Tigre confronts sexism and homophobia in the music industry while tearing up the stage via performance art poetics, no-holds-barred lyrics, punk rock ethos, and whip-smart wit in this edgy and entertaining documentary. It’s out now with tons of bonus features from Oscilloscope Pictures and on sale at Amoeba.

Magic Trip : Ken Kesey's Search For A Kool Place
In 1964, Ken Kesey, famed author of "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest," set off on a legendary, LSD-fuelled cross-country road trip to the New York World's Fair. Joined by "The Merry Band of Pranksters," he set out to make a documentary about their trip, shooting footage on 16MM, but the film was never finished and the footage has remained virtually unseen until now. Magnolia Pictures presents this special advance screening - the film opens at The Nuart theatre on August 12th.

Beastie Boys - Film Night!
We'll be screening their long-form video for Make Some Noise (AKA Fight For Your Right Revisted), and the LA debut of the Spike Jonze-directed video for "Don't Play No Game That I Can't Win" – both from their new album Hot Sauce Committee No. 2 (out now on Capitol Records and on sale at Amoeba). We'll round out the evening with more classic Beastie music videos from the archives…
