ArcLight Presents...HOW THE WEST WAS WON

Nominated for eight (8) Academy Awards in 1963 including Best Picture, Best Screenplay, Best Sound and Best Cinematography, HOW THE WEST WAS WON will be shown in the original 3-Strip Cinerama format complete with 7-channel Cinerama Sound, just as it was shown in its original roadshow engagements. This presentation will be in ArcLight Hollywood's historic Cinerama Dome - one of only three theaters in the World to be able to screen 3-Strip Cinerama and thus, present it as cinematic visionary directors John Ford, Henry Hathaway and George Marshall intended. The fifty years of American westward expansion between the 1830s and 1880s are viewed through the experiences of the Prescott and Rawlings families, as they migrate by the Erie Canal, continue over the prairies from St. Louis during the California gold rush, suffer through the Civil War, and finally help build the railroads on the plains, bringing law and justice to the frontier. --- Joining this unique experience, in person, will be HOW THE WEST WAS WON lead actress Carroll Baker along with actors Claude Johnson, Russ Tamblyn and Stanley Livingston. 100 special edition HOW THE WEST WAS WON Blu-ray(tm) High-Def DVDs from Warner Home Video will be given out before their on-sale date to the first 100 ticket holders to line up.
