All Night Horror Show This Saturday at the New Beverly

The schedule for the October 18 All Night Horror Show has been announced.
It will feature Dario Argento’s rarely screened Creepers (the US theatrical cut of Phenomena!), The House on Sorority Row (25th Anniversary!), the award winning short In The Wall, Lucio Fulci’s Zombie (the Italian gut muncher!), Piranha II: The Spawning (FLYING piranha!), Teenage Mother (the live birth exploitation classic!), The Power (unjustly overlooked 80s aztec doll terror!), and the New Bev return of the ultimate crowd pleaser: RAW FORCE! Plus, be prepared for a SUPER TOP SECRET hit surprise! Schedule subject to change.
All films are presented in glorious 35mm! All proceeds go towards New Bev upgrades & repairs!
Admission is only $20! Tickets available NOW at the New Beverly box office or online through PayPal. Box office purchases are cash only.
There will also be holding a raffle! Win dvds and other special prizes, including the chance to program your very own midnight screening! (subject to title availability) Raffle tickets are $1 each and are available NOW at the New Bev box office!
This event is a fundraiser for the New Beverly so if you are a fan of exploitation and horror films, I recommend going as this will help keep this LA institution going strong.

About the film

WRITER/DIRECTOR: William Malone
PRODUCER:Jon Jonatta Jane Hamilton
CAST:Dylan Purcell, Cherilyn Wilson, Patrick Kilpatrick, Jeffrey Combs, Timothy Bottoms, Kathryn Leigh Scott, Dov Tiefenbach and Jeff Doucette
Parasomnia is the latest film from acclaimed horror film director William Malone (House on Haunted Hill, Tales from the Crypt, Masters of Horror) who presents his macabre twist on the “Sleeping Beauty” legend. Parasomnia introduces the human drama of young art student, Danny Sloan (DYLAN PURCELL), who falls in love with the innocent and beautiful Laura Baxter (CHERILYN WILSON), a young woman afflicted with a rare sleep disorder. In her treacherous forays in and out of reality, she encounters a mentalist and serial killer Byron Volpe (PATRICK KILPATRICK) who tries to bend her fragile mind to his will. Using an array of hypnotic weaponry, that’s manifested through his unsuspecting host s in the real world, as well as the dangerous and deadly creatures he commands on the dark imagined plane, Volpe entraps Laura and Danny in a psychotic hell so frightening that there appears to be no chance for survival. The film is a gripping peril-packed love story, one that not only taps into the zeitgeist of dark yet edgy love-driven fantasies, but also pushes the familiar slasher film landscape into a more unique story driven world of the surreal.

About the film

Director: James Watkins
Producers: Christian Colson, Richard Holmes
Starring: Kelly Reilly, Michael Fassbender
When nursery teacher Jenny escapes to the country for a relaxing weekend away with her boyfriend, she is unaware of a romantic surprise he has in store. The location is perfect. A lake enclosed by woodlands, seemingly deserted. The scene is set for a picturesque proposal. But before the happy couple can enjoy the retreat, their peace is shattered by a gang of violent youths. What follows is a shocking and unrelenting game of cat-and-mouse, as Jenny is forced to fight back against her attackers. Boost Shorts - CLOWN and TOUR DE FRIGHT screen prior to EDEN LAKE

SCREAMFEST begins on Friday
Since I first discovered Screamfest three years ago, it has become one of my filmgoing highlights of the year. The festival is a mix of horror programmers and exciting independent and foreign horror films. If you are a horror aficionado, it is not to be missed.
