The women of horror take center stage this weekend in Los AngelesTwo film festivals and a book signing put the women of horror in the center of the action this week in Los Angeles. If you love independent film and being scared out of your wits, you owe it to yourself to check out these special events.
VISCERA Film Festival
Six hours of horror films by women, with special guests, Q&A sessions, and award ceremonies.
The mission of the VISCERA Film Festival is to give recognition through participating sponsors, awards, and distribution for today's female horror filmmakers making a difference in the genre. In doing this, the Chainsaw Mafia believes that more women will jump into the fold of horror, allowing a gateway for more women to develop careers in the film industry, which will cause a ripple effect in all industries for women to attain as many jobs and equal salaries to men.
BLOODY CARPET WALK
Special guests and filmmakers take center stage on the bloody carpet to discuss with Press about their projects and the women in film movement.
Shannon Lark and Heidi Martinuzzi introduce the festival. Amber Benson, escorted by Jeff Dylan Graham, presents the Comedic Program.
